Our History
Our story began in early 2017 when our founder, Jeremy Gonsalves, brought his extensive luxury hospitality background—including years of expertise in premium resort management and guest services—to the Hilton Head cycling scene. He launched Island Life Bike Rentals by acquiring a handful of small south-end rental shops, starting out with a modest fleet of 200 bicycles based. By blending world-class service standards with local passion, Jeremy and our in-house team scaled the business thoughtfully. Today, we proudly maintain a robust fleet of 2,200 meticulously serviced bikes. Behind every bike rental and dolphin tour is our tight‑knit crew of eight full‑time employees who earned our 4.9/5‑star rating. They are all locals raising families right here on Hilton Head. Leading our dolphin tours are four seasoned, USCG Master‑licensed captains who share a deep passion for the water. They specialize in safe, intimate wildlife cruises on nimble 12 to 14‑passenger boats. Whether they are running Vanishing Island trips or guiding sunset dolphin outings from Broad Creek, our captains always prioritize respect for marine life to ensure a memorable experience for all ages.

We take care of all the heavy lifting with streamlined, island-wide delivery straight to your rental or resort island wide. For a quick grab-and-go experience, you can also utilize convenient self-pickup at our two central island locations: 36 South Forest Beach Drive, 119 Arrow Road.
Our logistics team thrives during the peak summer rush. On a busy Saturday, our crew efficiently coordinates nearly 1,200 bikes and beach gear by 4:00 PM. We manage the details behind the scenes so your family can focus on making memories.
