Festive Fun for All Ages!


Kick off your Independence Day with the 35th Annual Hilton Head Firecracker 5K Run and Family Fun Walk! This beloved island tradition lets you burn some calories and support local charities. Join the runners at the Palmetto Running Company Hilton Head Firecracker 5K on July 4, 2024, celebrating America’s birthday bash! This 35-year-old event is the biggest and oldest race in Beaufort County, and promises a great time to all seeking exciting adventures on Hilton Head Island. Starting in beautiful Jarvis Creek Park, this family-friendly run and walk will take you on a scenic tour of Hilton Head Island. Once you cross the finish line, you’ll have a blast at the post-race party! Enjoy the post-race celebration with music, refreshments, and a chance to win prizes.

All who register will receive a T-Shirt and finishers medal!

Firework Season!

Head down to Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina for the HarbourFest 4th of July Fireworks. This free event boasts live music, with a special family-friendly show in the early evening, followed by a "Parrot Palooza Sunset Celebration." The evening culminates in a dazzling fireworks display over the scenic harbour. Cappy the Clown will be on hand to keep the kids entertained with bounce houses and train rides available for additional fun.

Shannon Tanner’s family show from 6:30 p.m. – 7:15 pm. Parrot Palooza Sunset Celebration w/ Shannon Tanner & the Oyster Reefers at 7:15 pm. kids activities with Cappy the Clown from 6 – 9 pm.

To ensure a safe and smooth entry and exit from the event for the July 4th celebration, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina offers a free shuttle from the parking lot at the Hargray building near Fresh Market for attendees to be shuttled to the HarbourFest events from 5:30-10:30 pmParking is free at this lot, with several shuttles running continuously from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm.
